Effective insurance broking is always built on strong personal and business relationships. The human touch is vital to all our transactions and with this in mind, we thought it would be useful to share some personal insights of our executive team.
David Seagon – Director.
The man who made it happen! Together with his Dad, Joe, David has built a modern, dynamic and successful company with the robust foundations of family values. He strives tirelessly to succeed in his mission to take care of all those around him, his family, friends, employees and clients alike, and plays an active role in all aspects of JW Seagon. He likes to play a bit of cricket and golf and enjoys spending time with his wonderful family either on safari or beside the sea.
Shakeel Hassanali – Managing Director.
Passionate about ensuring the business remains at the forefront of adapting to the changing needs of customers and markets we operate in, Shakeel looks at continuous improvement within processes, structure, technology, tools and people to support all teams to deliver the ultimate customer experience. Shakeel leads by example and has a thirst for learning more about the industry and the world that we operate in to ensure we are at the forefront of innovation. Occasionally he takes a break and can be found on the tennis court or running through Karura forest.
Simon Ashworth – Group Head, Healthcare.
Having spent most of his career successfully developing healthcare and insurance propositions, including a decade with the leading health insurer Bupa, Simon brings a wealth of experience to overseeing the performance of the JW Seagon health insurance portfolio. Always looking to better meet customer needs, he has led the development of JW Seagon´s own healthcare products as well as the superb customer service offering. Simon is based in Mauritius but takes regular trips back to England to spend time with his beautiful wife, their two adult children and the recently acquired ‘crazy’ red setter dog, Storm.
Jeremy Clayton – CEO Group General Broking.
A ‘seasoned’ insurance professional…or ‘old’ as the less polite say! He has been in the industry for over 40 years, as an underwriter and broker, running his own business in the UK for 25 years until the sale in 2013 and retirement. Unable to keep away from the insurance industry he soon packed his bags and came to Kenya where he has been the driving force behind the General Insurance business. Jeremy has a wife and 4 children, thankfully, all now grown up, but still as needy as ever! His interests are football and squash… he can’t play either very well, but they are what he likes!
Harish Gowrisunkur – CFO.
Harish is the numbers man! He joined the JW Seagon family in 2015 at a time when the group was expanding into new business lines and new markets. He heads the Finance affairs of the group and is based in Mauritius. Together with the JWS team he has helped to carve out and implement the long-term vision for the group in terms growth and profitability. Harish is married and proud dad of 2 children. An avid fan of Liverpool FC, he also enjoys mountain climbing and going horse racing with his close friends.
