All in All, a Great Day Out
JW Seagon Sponsors the Kennedy House Colour Run
Written by Harkiran Sidhu – Business Manager, Tanzania
I felt privileged that JWS was approached to sponsor the first ever Colour Run in Arusha back in September last year. The event was a fundraiser for one of our Academic options’ clients – Kennedy House, a private international school in Usa River, surrounded by farmland with a dense expat community.
It was originally scheduled for 21st March along with their annual Triathlon, but was postponed after the demise of our President, when the country went into 3 weeks of mourning. Finally, on 1st May, what started off as a dull, gloomy morning ended up being a scorching, fun, colourful and eventful day. It was attended by the Usa community at large as well as Kisongo and Arusha town residents.
As it turns out, the Arusha expat community hadn’t had a social event like this for a while, due to the pandemic, and JWS Arusha hadn’t had the opportunity to get out there and talk shop to our clients and prospects.
I hadn’t actually registered until the very last minute as I was hoping Henry would do the Run, but he didn’t want to mess up his hair 😊. So, I ended up taking part along with my family and we ran (I walked) through an Avocado Farm and, as you can see from the photos, we got doused in colours. My husband even managed to have his hair dyed by the colours and thanks to the great weather, he then spent the afternoon ‘sipping’ his gin cocktails, whilst the sun baked in the colours! Thankfully it’s washed out now though!
We were delighted to sponsor this event and have the opportunity to network and introduce our products to new clients, as well as reconnect with some of our current clients too. Although we haven’t been that visible over the past year or so we are very much open for business and here to look after the insurance needs of the community. I’m pleased to say we will be writing some new business as a result of the event, and our current clients were full of praise for the JWS portfolio. They say Word of Mouth is the best vehicle for promotion and I can safely say I saw it working perfectly at this event! All in all a great day out!
